Corbin Burnes Dealing with Elbow Inflammation
Corbin Burnes (elbow) left Sunday's start with right-elbow inflammation, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today. While nothing is official yet, there's optimism that he avoided a serious injury. That would be great news if true, as things were looking very bleak as he left the game in the fifth inning with an immediate elbow issue after throwing a pitch. The 30-year-old has been the picture of health throughout his career, making at least 28 starts every year dating back to 2021. Even if he did avoid a potential elbow surgery, it's still likely that this will require a trip to the injured list to heal. Expect more updates after he undergoes an MRI on Monday.
